Teams of up to 15 will once again paddle, bike and run or hike across 160km’s of the Oak Ridges Trail from Rice Lake (north of Cobourg) to ORTA’s HQ at Seneca College’s King City Campus, with spirited start and finish line celebrations.
The Adventure Relay welcomes teams of all ages and levels, whether or not you have previous racing experience, with safety as the first priority and fun as the order of the day.
New for 2009, the Adventure Relay website offers videos to help teams prepare for the big day, with topics like trail blazing, night racing and clearing race checkpoints. Racers are also encouraged to actively seek donations to spur them on and further support ORTA’s work on the trail.

ABOUT THE OAK RIDGES TRAIL and ASSOCIATION
The Oak Ridges Trail Association (ORTA) is a volunteer, community-based organization that builds, maintains and leads a year-round guided hiking program on the Oak Ridges Trail, a 300 km public hiking route across the Oak Ridges Moraine from Palgrave in the west to Rice Lake in the east.
ORTA’s goal is to secure an optimum corridor of natural surface trails across the length and breadth of the Oak Ridges Moraine.
10 chapters and over 700 members representing communities across the Moraine actively keep the trail and the hiking program up to date and encourage the public to experience all the Oak Ridges Trail and the Oak Ridges Moraine have to offer.
The trail not only offers a great hiking experience. The natural beauty, diverse wildlife and the simple joy of being part of the outdoors, almost on your doorstep, await anyone who visits the Oak Ridges Trail.
Donations and memberships help keep the Oak Ridges Trail ready to be enjoyed by all Ontarians.
