As the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation entered its 7th year, we received a $20 million re-investment from the provincial government. The Board of Directors decided that it is an opportune time to re-assess our current goals and approaches, and consider our priorities going forward.
As part of this assessment, the Board wanted to get feedback from across the Greenbelt from the varying organizations and individuals with an interest in the Foundation’s work, including municipal and conservation authority staff, agricultural and environmental-related associations and farmers etc.
Five sessions were hosted in Toronto, Halton/Peel Region, Niagara Region, York Region, and Durham Region to gather feedback in the past two weeks.
I attended all five sessions, gave the participants an overview of what we’ve been doing, and listened as the participants generously offered their opinions on the successes, future challenges, goals and approaches of the Foundation.
Delicious and healthy locally produced lunch exchanged for valuable opinions!
