Celebrating the Greenbelt's Ninth Anniversary at Queen's Park

The 9th Anniversary celebration of the Greenbelt featured a local carrot cake.

Yesterday I had the privilege of sitting in the Members' Guest Gallery at Queen's Park to listen to our Province's political parties comment on the Greenbelt in light of its ninth anniversary.

The last nine years have been marked by many successes, ongoing research, and much learning. I am proud of our achievements and look forward to more.

We have posted below the statements by the Honourable Linda Jeffrey, Minister for Municipal Affairs and Housing; as well as the responses by Michael Harris, MPP for Kitchener-Conestoga and the Conservative's Environment Critic; and by Cindy Forster, MPP for Welland and the NDP's Critic for Municipal Affairs and Housing.

I am grateful for the support the Greenbelt receives from all parties and thank each MPP for their continued commitment to the environment, the economy, and local food and farming.
