OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES- Greenbelt Harvest Picnic 2014 “Become a Friend” Contest (the “Contest”)
The Contest entry period begins at 11:00 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on August 23rd 2014 and ends at 11:59 PM ET on August 23rd 2014 (the “Contest Period”).
Who is Eligible?
The Contest is open to all legal residents of Ontario who:
- Are attendants at the Greenbelt Harvest Picnic 2014; AND
- provide their legal first and last name; AND
- provide a valid email address where they can be contacted; AND
- agree to be registered as a “Friend” of the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation; AND
- agree to follow up contact from the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation.
All entrants must provide a VALID EMAIL ADDRESS. A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS is defined in all cases as an ADDRESS which A.) represents a real business or individual in Ontario and B.) includes the minimum contact information necessary for the FOUNDATION staff to contact the entrant by email. For contest winners under the age of 18, a legal parent or guardian must give consent to accept the prize.
Who is Not Eligible?
Notwithstanding the above, the Contest is not open to individuals who are directly associated with the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation, including (a) Employees of the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation; (b) agents or representatives of the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation (including their respective divisions, subsidiaries, affiliates and advertising or promotional agencies) and suppliers in connection with this Contest (collectively, the “Excluded Individuals”). This Contest is not open to the immediate family members of the Excluded Individuals, and all other persons with whom the Excluded Individuals reside.
HOW TO ENTER
No purchase is required to enter the Contest.
All entries must be submitted and received through Staff of the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation at the Greenbelt Booth at the Greenbelt Harvest Picnic 2014 no later than 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on August 23rd, 2014, after which time the deadline for submissions will be closed.
The way by which an entrant can enter the contest:
- To be considered a valid entrant in the contest, an entrant must visit the Friends of the Greenbelt Booth at the Greenbelt Harvest Picnic 2014, fill out a ‘Friend’ postcard, and submit it to the ballot box at the Greenbelt Booth. The entrant must also agree to the contest rules and regulations as posted on the Foundation website.
PRIZE AND PROCESS
Chances of Winning
Odds of winning will be dependent on the number of eligible entries received prior to the end of the Contest Period. Entries will not be eligible if sent by any method not specified above or if not submitted within the noted duration of the Contest Period. The Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation will not be responsible or held liable for entries lost, for entries that cannot be submitted because of technical issues, or for entries that, for any reason, appear to have been submitted after the end of the Contest Period.
The official “winner” of the prize will be selected at random, from the list of all eligible contestants, by a random draw, and will be contacted by email by a representative of the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation prior to October 1st,2014. All entries must be received by August 23rd, 2014 (11:59 p.m EDT).
Awarding of Prize
Following the close of the contest on August 23rd, 2014, and prior to October 1st, 2014, the winner will be contacted at the email address provided on the ‘Friend’ postcard. The winner will be contacted during regular business hours (Eastern Standard Time). If the person selected as the winner cannot be reached within five business days from the time of initial contact, an alternative submission may be selected until such time as a selected person satisfies the terms of this selection. Upon initial contact, the potential winner must respond by telephone to the contact number provided in the notification during regular business hours (Eastern Standard Time). Before the potential winner is declared the official winner by the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation the potential winner must: (i) correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical, skill-testing question administered by telephone; (ii) be in compliance with the rules for the contest; and (iii) fully complete, properly sign, and return a standard release document confirming compliance with, and agreement to be bound by the contest rules, releasing of the Foundation and its directors, officers, and employees from any and all liability, and acceptance of the prize as awarded within five days after receipt. The potential winner must also provide their full legal name and contact information as requested. The selected winners will receive 4 tickets to the Greenbelt Harvest Picnic 2014. In the event that there is no picnic in 2014, the winner will be provided with a prize of equal value.
Grant of Licence
By submitting any written text to the contest, with the exception of personal contact information, you grant to the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation a worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable and non-exclusive right and license to use, copy, adapt, modify, transmit, communicate, publicly display and distribute the text to promote the contest and/or for non-commercial use.
General Rules and Regulations
By entering the contest, you consent to the possible use of your name and address (place only) without payment or compensation, in any publicity or advertising in any medium carried out by the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation.
By entering the contest, you agree to abide by the contest rules and the decisions of the contest organizers, which are final.
Waiver of Liability
The Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation, together with its directors, officers and employees, shall not be responsible for any injuries, loss or damages of any kind (compensatory, direct, incidental, consequential or otherwise) with respect to, or in any way arising from, this contest or the prizes awarded, including but not limited to:
- lost, stolen, not received, destroyed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, fraudulent, or late entries which will be ineligible;
- failure to receive entries for any reason or technical failures or errors of any kind, including, but not limited to, incorrect or inaccurate capture or loss of entry information, omissions, lost/delayed/garbled data, transmission failure, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, servers, or software, traffic congestion on the internet or any website, or if the Foundation’s email/website portal is compromised by virus, bugs, unauthorized human or unauthorized non-human intervention, or any other online communication problems or any combination of the foregoing; or
- printing or typographical errors in any contest related material or human error;
- any injury or damage to your computer or any other persons’ computer system(s) due to viruses or otherwise or breaches of privacy due to interference by third party computers.
The Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation does not warrant that access to or use of the contest will be uninterrupted or error-free. The Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify, amend or suspend the contest, its sole discretion, if any technical or other problems prevent the fair or proper administration of the contest.
The Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify your participation in the contest and to determine your entry to be ineligible, if you enter this contest or try to do so by any means contrary to these rules or which would be unfair to other entrants or where contest entries are generated by any mechanical or automated means. Any written entries that have been reproduced, falsified or altered are void.
A prize winner’s refusal or inability to accept the prize awarded shall release the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation from all obligations arising from this contest. In the event that a potential winner is disqualified for any reason, the prize may be awarded to an alternate winner by random draw from among all remaining eligible contest entries.
The Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations.
The Contest and the these Official Contest Rules shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the province of Ontario. Any dispute shall be adjudicated in the courts sitting in Toronto, Ontario.
