artist statement:
"I've come to treasure the sense of tranquility and well being that comes from spending time on that part of the Green Belt.  Last year Kathryn MacDuffee approached me to take a series of photos to illustrate a book of her newspaper columns called Country Roads that she hoped to put together some time.

"This image was one of my favourites - a lone jogger on Humber Station Road (west of Palgrave and south of Finnerty Sideroad.)  A man in harmony with Nature: I hope the viewer might identify with the runner and then have their eye led further into that marvellous Fall scene.  As a city boy, this photo is like a meditation for me." ---George Gardiner, Toronto
