About this Trip

Enjoy a picnic lunch on the farm, and bring the kids to the Fun Farm featuring a Sand Toy Lot, 1950s model tractor and barnyard animals.

Whittamore’s Farm is a 220 acre fruit and vegetable farm nestled beside the Rouge River Valley in Markham. This trip offers the chance to tour a working farm, purchase fresh vegetables and enjoy the Fun Farm Yard, a hands-on learning adventure for kids of all ages.

Berry Picking is available in June and July.

Suggested Itinerary

Departure
Plan to arrive at Whittamore’s Farm between 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., the Farm is located about an hour of Toronto, and about 20 minutes from Brampton. We suggest hiring a tour bus for the day.

Arrival
Whittamore’s Farm is located at 8100 Steeles Avenue East, Markham, ON L6B 1A8 and is not accessible by public transit. Free parking is available on site.

Morning Activities 
Begin the day with a wagon ride tour through the farm, learning about the operations of the farm which grows strawberries, raspberries, green peas, snow peas, green and yellow beans and more.

Lunch
Enjoy a picnic lunch in a beautiful shaded area on the farm.

Afternoon Activities 
Enjoy the Fun Farm. Kids can play in the Sand Toy Lot, climb the 1950s tractor and frolic in the playhouses. Visit the barnyard animals and see the wooden milking cow and goat. It’s also possible to hike up Strawberry Mountain to see the scenery of the Rouge River Valley. Before heading home check out Whittamore’s Farm Shop where you can find fresh fruits, veggies, baked pies, fruit pastries, butter tarts, maple syrup, and local honey. Pumpkinland opens in September.

Reservations
Reservations are required for the picnic areas and group tours.

Group tours are available Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Extended hours are available during peak season. Call Karen Anderson at 905-294-8200 ext. 230 to book your trip.

Entrance Fees
Admission is $9.00/person. When produce is in season, pick-your-own is available for $1.25-3.75/pound depending on the fruit or vegetable. Bring your own container or purchase empty containers at the farm.

Hours of Operation
Fun Farm Yard (May 4 – September 11): 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. 
Pick Your Own (June 19 – Civic holiday Monday): Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Weekends, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Farm Shop (May 4 – October 31): 9 a.m - 5 p.m extends till 7 p.m. during the summer pick your own.
Pumpkin Land (September 12 – October 31): 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
