Jane's Walk Waterloo
The Need for Small Blocks and Aged Buildings

Excerpt from the walk description on Janeswalk.org"Michael Brisson and Kae Elgie will look at Waterloo's current intensification plans through the lens of Jane Jacobs' "The Death and Life of Great American Cities", Chapters 9 and 10, Need for Small Blocks, Need for Aged Buildings. Walking through a small section of the Uptown North neighbourhood, they will look at historic, current and proposed future models of intensification, and ask how well each meets Jane Jacobs' goal of neighbourhoods which are safe, welcome children and encourage human contact."
