artist statement:
"A cluster of mushrooms of small Mycena’s (Mycena subcaerulea (Peck) Sacc. , growing on a decaying log. The photo was taken below Ball’s Falls Conservation area on the Niagara Escarpment near Jordan, Ontario.

"The filtered natural light and the pleasing arrangement of the mushrooms on the log encouraged me to capture the photo. I have hiked through the escarpment numerous times over the past 40 years, and photographing fungi has become a passion of mine.  I enjoy macrophotography, especially with subjects that do not run away! I have enjoyed walking through the Greenbelt across southern Ontario since childhood, and find a peace and serenity there amidst the frenetic pace of our busy lives.” ---Lorne Stobbs
