This report was prepared by a team of four graduate students in the planning program at the University of Toronto. It was undertaken as part of the requirements for the Workshop in Planning Practice course during the Fall 2008 term. The report was edited by Ellise Goarley at the Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation in 2009.

The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development at the University off Guelph, with funding from the Ontario Market Investment Fund, the Greater Toronto Area Agriculture Action Committee, and the Toronto Food Policy Council are in the process of conducting market research regarding consumer preferences for ethno-cultural foods in the Greater Toronto Area. This was one of three key recommendations made in this report.
