Tour of Holland Loop

Cycle along rolling hills, historic landscapes, and the rich fields of the Holland Marsh.

About the Route

Moderate to Advanced | Unsigned | Paved and Unpaved Roads, Unpaved Trail

We all know that Holland is bike country, but did you know that you can cycle through a slice of Dutch-style farmland right here in Ontario? The Holland Marsh, one of two specialty crop areas protected by the Greenbelt, is comprised of 7,000 acres of reclaimed land first cultivated by fifteen Dutch families in 1934. Their legacy left us with the scenic Holland Canal Road overlooking rich fields perfect for vegetable farming, on some of the most productive land in Ontario. Leave from King City and celebrate this "rural ride" through a historic landscape with stops at orchards and the farming village of Schomberg.

Jump on your bike and come explore the Greenbelt's beautiful, protected countryside. Choose from a selection of curated local cycling itineraries along the signed 475 km Greenbelt Route and explore Ontario's protected Greenbelt.
