Greenbelts for La Belle Province

Two great Canadian cities will include greenbelts in the near future. The Québec government announced in their budget on Tuesday that $60 million will be used to develop greenbelts in Montréal and Québec City.

An investment of $50 million will be made to develop natural space, preserve biodiversity and improve Montreal’s living environment. The greenbelt in Montreal will become as hip as places like the Plateau neighbourhood.

The capital will receive $10 million to implement a comprehensive land-use and development plan. The greenbelt will feature blue and green zones for developing natural and human environments to preserve biodiversity.

This announcement is an important step in preserving green spaces and protecting important natural environments in Canada. We look forward to supporting Montréal and Québec in their endeavors to create thriving greenbelts.
