The project strengthens Indigenous communities / peoples in the region and cultural identity of the Greenbelt.
First Nations, Métis and Indigenous communities are partnering with land use professionals (CIP, OPPI, FCM) to develop a leading example of an Indigenous-Municipal engagement program that increases the extent to which Indigenous voices and rights are recognized and sustained as an integral part of municipal, Greenbelt and Ontario land use planning processes. Three (3) relationship agreements, an adaptable toolkit and a network of practioners and experts will be created. The project strengthens Indigenous communities / peoples in the region and cultural identity of the Greenbelt.
