Streamlining Process and Approaches to Agricultural Applications in Municipalities and Conservation Authorities - Workshop
As farm operations change and evolve within the Golden Horseshoe, growth is often necessary for the operation to expand or redevelop the farmstead in order to continue to be viable. Municipal planning staff often have to consider Agricultural applications in the context of Building Permits, the Planning Department, Zoning By-laws, MDS and other policies and regulations. Conservation Authorities add a layer of environmental oversight to the process as well.
The purpose of this workshop is to showcase best practices and processes of selected municipalities as well as the experience of farmers in order to enable municipal and Conservation Authority staff to implement more effective approaches to Agricultural applications.
Intended for municipal planners, economic development officers and building department staff, as well as other stakeholders; this workshop will describe planning policies and zoning by-laws, a trend presentation about what's happening in other jurisdictions as well as facilitated breakout discussions.
