We're honoured!
Ungalli, a Canadian clothing brand that creates apparel from recycled materials, is donating 20% of all Earth Week (April 18-24) online sales to support the work we do here at the Foundation.
When Ungalli first approached us with the idea we knew we had to find out more about what this small Thunder Bay based company was all about.
Here are three cool facts we now know about Ungalli clothing.
|
All Ungalli clothing is made from 100% recycled materials. Ungalli uses all sorts of material to make their products, from recycled plastic bottles to reused cotton to recycled black food trays. The entire plastic to cloth process is described on their website - it's worth a read! Fun Fact: One Ungalli recycled t-shirt saves approximately 10 plastic bottles from landfill. |
|
Ungalli clothing doesn't travel far. All Ungalli clothing is ethically produced in North America within a 320km radius. By producing clothing within a confined radius, Ugalli works to minimize environmental impacts and reduce or eliminate water, petroleum, chemical, and C02 waste. Fun Fact: It takes 2,720 litres of water to make a traditional t-shirt. Every Ungalli tee saves 2,695 litres of water by only using 25 litres in production! |
|
Ungalli supports conservation charities Ungalli designs specific lines for environmental and wildlife conservation charities including the Nature Conservancy of Canada and the Bumblebee Conservation Trust. For every one of those items sold $1 goes directly to the charity. |
We're excited to be working with Ungalli to celebrate Earth Week. Find out more about the company here or visit their online store.
Happy Earth Month!
