About the Foundation
The Foundation operates as an independent, charitable organization, and receives funding from the Government of Ontario and other public and private support to make strategic investments that bolster the richness of life in the Greenbelt. Since 2005, we have invested and leveraged matching dollars totaling more than $47 million through investment in farming, environmental protection and tourism projects to make the Greenbelt a great place to live, work, play, and grow.
Vision
Our vision is a vibrant and healthy Greenbelt with a protected and restored natural environment, a thriving rural economy, a robust agricultural sector, opportunities for outdoor recreation, and patterns of urban settlement that support the integrity of the Greenbelt.
Mission
The Greenbelt Foundation is dedicated to promoting and sustaining the Greenbelt as a vital, valuable, and permanent safeguard for our future that enhances the quality of life for all residents of Ontario.
