This service combines two sustainable modes of transportation - bikes and trains - allowing passengers to reduce their carbon footprint and have fun too! By enjoying local and regional tourist attractions Bike Train passengers are avoiding long distance car journeys and air travel that produce abundant greenhouse gas emissions. The Greenbelt Express Bike Train enjoyed a banner launch on Friday, June 27, 2008. Transportation Options, Waterfront Regeneration Trust and partners invited luminaries and media to the Official Launch Press Conference of the Toronto-Niagara Bike Train (Greenbelt Express) at the Great Hall, Union Station, Toronto. Guests also enjoyed a return trip to Niagara Falls, where they got to savour Geenbelt-grown snacks and refreshments. Co-hosted by VIA Rail Canada special guests included:
